Early morning

I wrote the other day about the fact that I cannot seem to stay asleep.

Turns out that this has some wonderful consequences.

One of the best parts of the day is the time in the house when there’s nobody else around. I don’t want to sound like some old curmudgeon, but I suspect you know what I mean. If you’ve got a family, then you’ll know all about the craving that you get to be left alone once in a while – just for a few minutes.

Not being able to sleep means that I’m often up hours before anyone else in the house is up and about. This leaves me to do what I want. Sit and drink a coffee, meditate, read a book, write a blog post.

Right now, the time that I’m waking coincides with the time that the sun rises, so I get the added benefit of watching the sun come up, which never gets old.

I doubt that I’m alone in revelling in this time?
