I don’t really know how to encapsulate this – the idea of ‘brilliant people’ seems a little weird.
With that said, brilliant people (I think) demonstrate these two qualities:
- They are humble in the face of their own success
- The are apologetic when facing their own errors
They know that there’s no point in trying to make everyone else realise how fabulous they are.
They know that when they make poor decisions, people will forgive them more quickly if they own up to it, if they admit when they’re wrong, and that errors are a necessary part of life, not something you must never admit to.
We need more brilliant people in positions of power.
Oh, and I should add that I rarely manage to be a ‘brilliant’ person.
